My Fave Looks from the 2017 VMAs

Something I've always admired about the VMA red carpet (or wait, is it blue?) is the risk-takers. I'm all about taking a risk when it comes to fashion and there's no shortage of those at the VMAs.

As fans and artists alike gathered together to honor the best in music, dance and choreography from last year, they pulled out their best in fashion, as they would for any red carpet, except a whole lot flashier and a little bit wilder.

I'm showing you my top 7 looks ( in no particular order) from the 2017 MTV video music awards. What was your favorite look from last night's awards? Comment them below or DM me directly on Instagram @almostfabme.

However you feel about this High School Musical alum's singing or acting abilities, there's no denying her stake as a fashion icon. Whether dancing around at Coachella or hitting the red carpet, girlfriend has got some serious style. The 2017 VMAs was no different. She looked GORGE in this stunning red number (hello "lady in red" as she called herself on Instagram) which had some definite interest with 3D petal accents and a little extra volume in the skirt. Also, please tell me you noticed that fab, sparkly red winged liner? YASSSS GIRL, WORK!

Demi Lovato in Zuhair Murad

Let's face it, Demi has been having a MOMENT! From her recent Instagram selfies to her hit summer anthems, girlfriend has been giving some major 'tude and the VMA blue carpet was no different. This all black number was a major look for the VMAs. While I absolutely ADORED the top, like seriously I want Forever 21 to produce a version of this so I can go buy it, I wasn't a huge fan of the genie pants. Her whole look was working for her there's no doubting that, but I would have preferred a high waisted skinny legging to make her legs look longer and leaner. Either way Demi was serving major glamour.

Heidi Klum in Peter Dundas

There is a reason they call her THE BODY people. Dear god does this woman age!? Let me answer for you - No, no she doesn't. There is no doubt mama came to play at the VMAs and show off all her...ehem...*assets* but when you look that good at 44 you GO girl. It was just enough sheer to leave a little something to the imagination while the gold hue highlighted her glowing skin and golden hair. Heidi was having a moment and you could see it all over her face, she was feeling gooood, and looking even better if you ask me.

Alessandra Ambrosio in Balmain

Yet another supermodel graced us with her presence at the VMAs last night and like Heidi, she showed up! Now don't get me wrong, this look was a LOT (helloooo, it's Balmain). With tons of intricate lace detailing not to mention full on lace up thigh-highs, I almost didn't know where to look. But I actually loved it. She took a big risk (as she should have) and I wasn't mad at it. What really pulled the look all together was the simplicity of her hair, makeup and accessories. Her pulled back high ponytail highlighted her killer bone structure and she kept the makeup really natural. There was no fighting for attention here, she let her clothes do all the talking.

Olivia Munn in Nicolas Jebran

I don't think I've ever seen Olivia Munn not look good on a red carpet. She always shows up and looks stunning in whatever she's wearing. The 2017 VMAs were no exception. Her mini dress featured a sheer panel in the front with colorful pops of color in the detailing. She continued that pop of color in her burgundy lips. I love a good accent lip and Munn introduced this fall color at the perfect moment on the red carpet.

Hailey Baldwin in Zuhair Murad

Don't get me wrong, it definitely helps having modelesque measurements and height but I was all about this jumpsuit. First of all I adore a good jumpsuit but finding one that truly FITS your body is no easy task. I'm sure this look went through numerous fittings and alterations but it was worth it. Am I right, or am I right?! This sheer metallic deep V hit her in all the right places. Baldwin's itsy bitsy waist (curse her) was highlighted by a silver accent belt which pulled the entire look together. She kept accessories simple with a delicate silver chain and big hoop earrings. The hoops gave it a 70s disco vibe that was SO fun.

Christina Milian in Dennis Basso

So I just recently saw Christina Milian (in real life) outside the Ed Sheeran concert and I was like "aww look at her, all normal hanging out outside a concert with her besties." To be fair, my boyfriend actually noticed her first but looking at her on the blue carpet last night, how could you not notice her?! She was one of my FAVES of the evening. The pewter satin skirt with an up to there slit was perfectly draped highlighting her legs and hitting at the smallest part of her waist. This look was simple but classic and showed off her figure all too well. Surprisingly enough I even loved the slicked back wet hair look. She looked absolutely effortlessly chic.
