My 30 Day Blogging Challenge! (Day 1)
July 1st is a very special day in the calendar year. No it‘s not just because it’s the start of a new month nor the start of a long holiday weekend (Lord knows we ALL need that, am I right??). July 1st marks the start of my 30 day blogging challenge!!! (*hold for applause*). However, it also marks the official halfway point of the year! 6 months are in the rearview mirror with 6 months up ahead on the horizon. Now THAT is crazy. For so long ‘2023’ has felt like an unfathomable series of numbers in the very, VERY distant future, but now it’s a matter of months before we change that final ‘2’ into a ‘3’ and adjust our minds and pens to saying and writing a brand new year.
But before we get too ahead of ourselves, let’s stay in the present, shall we? July 1. The start of my 30 day blogging challenge. Why 30 days of blogging you may ask? (Trust me, I’ve been asking myself the same question LOL). In all seriousness I’ve been writing a lot more recently and remembering the ‘writers high’ I experience after losing myself in the written word. I mean I write every single day but not necessarily creatively. It’s a different craft. In one of my daily newsletters they preached taking on the challenge of writing for 30 days straight and I was intrigued. If you’ve been here for a while then you know I wrote a blog post every day for months straight last summer when we traveled the US in our sprinter van. It was a challenge, sure, but it helped me perfect my craft in new and interesting ways. Plus I’d like to think you all enjoyed it, right? (Humor me people!)
The setting is obviously a bit different this time around as I don’t have the luxury of traveling the United States in a sprinter van for 3 months and sharing the trials and tribulations of van
life but I think that’s kind of the fun of it. At the same time that’s of course the challenge being that it’s now a matter of me coming up with topics of discussion for 30 days while living my normal daily life in the summer of 2022. That being said, please feel free to send all the blog topic ideas my way. (Please). Writers Block is bound to sink in at day 10, if not sooner.
As we head into the long weekend, I’m personally going to carve out some time to focus on checking in with ’Casey’ after completing the first 6 months of the year and re-prioritize my goals for the remainder of 2022. The first 6 months of this year have been an absolute whirlwind and I can’t wait to share more about that with each of you (hopefully soon!) but I also recognize that I have fallen behind in a lot of my personal goals as a result. I took a couple days off work next week because to be quite honest I’ve lost sight of those goals. I’ve become (once again) so consumed by my day job that I’ve lost sight of MY individual goals. The things I set out to accomplish at the beginning of 2022 that will have me closing the chapter on this year feeling personally fulfilled and accomplished. Which TBH is really all I care about.
How about you? How are you tracking toward your annual goals? This weekend is a great time to sit down and check in on your vision board, see how you’re tracking, or perhaps create a brand new vision board for the second half of the year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can help you in any way! In the meantime, let’s get out there and get after the last 6 months of 2022. Starting…NOW!
