Discovering ClassPass and 5 New Workout Classes
I can't believe I'm going to say this but I am officially THAT girl. That's right, you heard it here first people, I am Boutique Fitness Girl, hear me roar. Grunt? Maybe that's more appropriate given the current topic at hand.
Now, prior to my newfound acceptance and admittance into the Boutique Fitness world, I was Gym Girl extraordinaire. It helped that I worked at a gym in college - that place was truly my second home. I worked back to back eight hour shifts there over the summer and then spent a solid couple hours pumping iron, getting my sweat on and dodging stares from creeping male gym-goers. Oh and there was that one time I actually had to physically RESCUE a patron by lifting the bar off of him on the bench press butttt that's a different story.
A story for another time...
Anywho, adjusting to post-grad life and you know, actually having to pay for a legit gym membership has certainly been an...Adjustment. Not to mention the fact that I am a morning workout person which kind of eliminates most gym accountability partners. But hey, if you're into a good 5/5:30am workout then please hit me up. Seriously.
Then I discovered...*drumroll please*...ClassPass! What an invention, am I right?! For those of you who may not be familiar (first of all, lift rock and quickly roll out from under it) it's this amazing platform that allows you to test out participating workout classes. Your membership fee gives you "credits" which you can use toward classes. The more money you pay per month, the more credits you get, the more classes you can take a month. Makes sense, right?
Thanks to ClassPass I've had the opportunity to explore a variety of workout classes around Los Angeles and really mixup my workout routine which let's face it, I think that's what I was craving.
In the hopes that you too will have an equally amazing experience getting out of your workout comfort zone and trying something new, I've listed my top 5 ClassPass finds below. Happy Lifting (and Running and Sweating and all that good stuff) Party People!
1.Barry's Bootcamp: For those of you who aren't familiar with Barry's, well, remember what I said earlier about the whole lifting the rock thing - rinse, and repeat. Barry's gives you the ULTIMATE sweat. Half treadmill, half weights, you rotate between floor work and sprinting on the treadmill for 50 minutes (class times vary). Classes also focus on different areas, i.e. Ass and Abs which is SURE to include lots of inclines. Your booty thanks you.

2.Sweat Chizle at Sweat Yoga: First let me honest in saying I am not a big Yoga girl. My mind wanders too much, I know I know, Yoga is probably good for me but I'm happy with my wandering mind, okay? Sweat Chizle is the perfect happy medium between a HIIT class and Yoga. Set in a hot AF room surrounded by sweaty bodies (delish) this non-traditional Yoga Class features light weights, ab work and a great variety of flows. You'll walk out of this class drenched and high on endorphins!

3.Bunda: Portuguese for "butt" this class is all about your lower extremities. Similar to Barry's, this class is split between the stair master and floor work and focuses on that gluteus maximus. The first time I took this class I barely thought I was going to make it past the first round of the stair master and I only had two more to go. LORDT. This class is sure to lift that booty and trim that waist which let's face it, that's what we all want, right?

4.Basecamp Fitness: Keeping right on theme, Basecamp features weight work on the floor in addition to work on the assault bike. Need I say more than assault bike? You're able to challenge yourself with the weight work by lifting heavy or light, based on your personal preference. And then you get to promptly move to the assault bike. Again, need I say more?

5.LIT Method: No this class doesn't involve over-indulging in alcohol (Get it, LIT method? Hah Hah...Okay moving on) it stands for Low-Impact-Training but believe me when I say there's nothing LOW about this class. Moving from the rowing machine to the mat, this class is a total body workout and the energy in the room is truly...Well...LIT. I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Again, not to be that girl but you can use my handy dandy referral link and get $40 toward your new ClassPass membership. That's like 3-4 awesome new classes (depending on the city you're located in). Trust me, you will not regret this decision! In fact, I can just about guarantee you won't even cancel your membership, and not because you forgot to but because you don't want to.
